Self-hosted is free. Forever.
Oleus is Apache-2.0. Run it yourself; pay only for the boxes. When you'd rather not, our managed hosting picks up where the binary leaves off — same product, our infra.
Estimates use Hetzner CPX list pricing for VPS, Backblaze B2 for object storage, and current public per-host pricing for SaaS comparisons (Datadog Pro, Splunk Enterprise, PagerDuty Business). Your mileage may vary — and that's the point.

Common questions.
Is the self-hosted version actually free?
Yes. Apache-2.0. No license keys, no telemetry, no feature gates. We make money offering managed hosting and enterprise support — not by paywalling features.
What about the components — VictoriaMetrics, ClickHouse, Wazuh?
All upstream OSS, all permissively licensed. Oleus packages and configures them; we don't fork them. You can swap any component for a hosted version (e.g. Aiven ClickHouse) and Oleus will keep working.
How big a VPS do I need?
For up to 25 hosts and 10M events/mo, a 4-vCPU / 16GB / 200GB SSD box ($24–48/mo on Hetzner or Hivelocity) is plenty. The calculator above sizes it for your numbers.
What happens if I want to leave?
All data is in standard formats — Prometheus TSDB, ClickHouse Parquet, OTLP traces. Export with oleus export, point your remote-writes elsewhere. No vendor moat.
When does the managed tier launch?
Q3 2026. We're onboarding the waitlist in cohorts. EU first, then US-East. Early users get pricing locked for 24 months.
Do you offer support contracts for self-hosted?
Yes. Two tiers — Standard (business hours, email) and Enterprise (24/7 on-call, named engineer). Pricing on request, but it's a fraction of what you'd pay for SaaS.
